When, in 1885, Elijah Brain and his partners took over the Foley China Works, from Robinson & Son, they continued producing wares using the marks of the previous owners until 1903. Trade names, which we might now refer to as “brands”, included “Foley Art China” and “Harjian”, both marks are to be found on both the Robinson and the later E Brain marked products.
