Foley Art China - Peacock Pottery

When E. Brain & Co relaunched the company in 1905 they updated the trading name, image and product range. The trading name and back stamp changed from the traditional Staffordshire Knot used by several potteries, to the far more contemporary Foley Art China - Peacock Pottery name with stylised peacock label mark.

The pattern number or name was usually painted or printed underneath the trade mark. The design numbers started at 1 and go to just over 100 (current highest I’ve found is 110). The design names include Indian Tree, Scottish Thistle, Swastika and Silhouette.
